Program Highlights

• Focus on enhancing basic sewing skills through technique building with clear, concise instruction.

• Led by instructors with over 20 years of sewing experience.
• In-class Sewing machines, sewing tools and some fabrics are included. Feel free to bring your sewing machine.

• Conveniently held in Historic College Park, GA. Address provided upon registration
Equipment
Participants will need to bring 3 yards cotton fabric and matching thread to class.
Having a sewing machine at home is preferred, though a class set of machines are available. Instructor will give homework assignments. In order to make accurate progress with sewing much practice is needed. Hence, please think of purchasing a standard sized sewing machine. It is not necessary but is convenient. Instructor is available to assist with this process.

Policies

🔄 Makeup Class Policy: WSC deems emergencies on a case-by-case basis. Emergencies include related death in family, contracting a contagious illness or injury to Client or Client's family members. In this case rescheduling services is appropriate. Client must reach out to Creative Consultant in a timely manner (24 hours before seminar or workshop start time.)

Adult Intermediate Beginner Workshop I
INSTRUCTOR LED CURRICULUM. Students will learn a new technique each class.
Class 1: Commercial Patterns 101. Students will learn the basics of working with an easy commercial pattern. Students will learn fabric techniques, cutting basics and marking basics as they complete prep work for first garment creation. (Basic gathered skirt, basic circle skirt, pajama shorts or pants, halter tope etc.)
Class 2: Casings. Students will learn the basics of working with casings and why they are utilized. Students will discover sewing tools and notions related to casings. Students will complete a sewing project with casings. (Basic gathered skirt, basic circle skirt, pajama shorts or pants, halter tope etc.)
Class 3: Continuation of Hems. Students will learn the basics of hems as they complete project in class #1. Students will discover sewing tools and notions related to hems. Students will complete a project in which a hem may be required a waist or bottom of garment.
Prerequisite: Ability to thread sewing machine independently. Ability to sew a straight line, curves and squares without assistance.

Adult Intermediate Beginner Workshop II
INSTRUCTOR LED CURRICULUM.
Class 1: Patterns and Techniques. Students utilize a digital or printed commercial sewing pattern to create a skirt or bag or dress. Students will learn basics of using a serger and other techniques.
Class 2: Zipper Insertion in a garment. Students will learn the basics and parts of a zipper. Students will insert a zipper within a skirt or bag or dress from a digital or printed commercial sewing pattern.
Class 3: Finishing Techniques. Students will be introduced to techniques in order to create a professional looking garment from inside look to the outside. Students will finish skirt, dress or bag of choice.
Prerequisite: Ability to thread sewing machine independently. Ability to sew a straight line, curves and squares without assistance. Completion of Adult Intermediate Beginner Workshop I.
Some supplies are included with registration! Sewing machine, some notions are included in the class fee. Participants will need to bring 3 yards of cotton fabric and matching thread. Students will pick up physical pattern from instructor or download and print digital pattern. Up to 30 pages may need printing.
