Advanced Beginner Kids Sew Workshop 

Dates of College Park cohort includes Saturday's September 9, 16, 23 and September 30, 2023. 

Times: 12:15 PM- 1:45 PM. Advanced Beginner Kid's Session (Ages 8-14) or

12:45 PM-1:45 PM  Advanced Beginner Kid's Session (Ages 8-14)

Kid's Advanced Beginner Workshop is $205 for four 1.5 hour sessions (total of 6 hours).

Advanced Beginner Workshop is $130 for four 1 hour sessions (total of 4 hours).

 Location for this event is 3480 E. Main Street, College Park, GA 30337 (St. John's Episcopal Church).

Church Conditions ***The church has a No-Child Abuse Policy in place in which they request parents to stay on campus for the length of the class. There is seating inside the Fellowship Hall also. Thanks for complying. ***

 

Class size: 6 students maximum per session. 

This is a skill-building program for students to acquire knowledge of more advanced sewing techniques. This is a private group workshop (6 participants max.) built to promote independence and confidence, build community amongst sewists and foster possible career avenues and side income potentials amongst participants.  

Prerequisite: One full month of Kids Beginner Sewing Workshop or knowledge of threading sewing machine, sewing straight lines, curves and squares. 

This is a monthly program with the option of discontinuing as needed. Each month a new technique will be discussed and created through a one-of-a-kind project. October-Gatherings and Casings, November-Interfacings December-Working with Knits or Freestyle Design.

 Advanced Beginner Sample projects for September include: Basic t shirt, Crop top, Doll clothes or simple skirt. 

Intermediate/Advanced students will need to provide some fabrics and notions depending on student selected projects. (October, November, December-fabrics and notions)

Intermediate/advanced participants will need to purchase a basic sewing kit for monthly classes. These kits of basic sewing supplies may be purchased at various local retailers including Joann fabrics, Walmart, Amazon.com.

Masks are not required for these workshops! Masks are preferred.

Please arrive 10 minutes early in order to set up sewing machine and be ready for class session.
