SUMMER SEWING BEGINNER WORKSHOPS:

Mondays July 14 & 21 & 28, 2025.

Saturday August 9, 16 & 23, 2025
2:30pm-4:30pm
COST: $250 for three 2 hour sessions.
1 Day Class is $125 for one two hour class.
Outline of Beginner Sewing Session:
Session #1
Introductions, Discuss your sewing why?, An Introduction to Sewing and Flowing, Basic Sewing Tools/Notions, Explaining Sewing Machine, Threading, Machine Stitching Practice and Review Techniques. Create Project.
Session #2 and #3
Review of Session #1 Information and Stitching Practice, Fabric Basics 101, Cutting basics. Finish Project. Start Project #2. and #3.
Sample Beginner Finished Projects
• 🛏️ Pillow or 👜 Simple tote bag or 💤 Neck pillow or🧳 Zipper bag.
Learning to Sew Program Highlights
• Focus on implementing basic sewing skills through clear, concise instruction.
• Designed to promote confidence with sewing machine. After session time participant will operate machine independently.
• Free digital sewing resources. We offer over 100 beginner sewing online tutorials and tips.
• Led by instructors with over 20 years of sewing experience.
• In-class Sewing machines, sewing tools and some fabrics are included. Feel free to bring 2 yard of cotton fabric for pajama shorts or 3 yards for pajama pants project. Bring your sewing machine if desired.
• Minimum Participants: 2 (or the workshop will be rescheduled)
• Group Size: Private workshop with a maximum of 6 participants
•No prior experience required—just an open mind!

How to thread a sewing machine
Practice Stitching straight, curved and square lines
Basic Troubleshooting with sewing machine
Fabric Basics & Sewing Tools 101
Complete 3 projects and work with patterns. Unisex patterns available in variety of sizes.
Ability to ask all questions with clear, concise answers and models
Receive a beginner sewing notebook with video tutorial links, curated sewing machines for purchase, fabric store recommendations & more.

• Conveniently held in Historic College Park, GA, near Main Street. Address provided upon registration
Policies
• 🚫 No refunds
• 🔄 Makeup Class Policy: WSC deems emergencies on a case-by-case basis. Emergencies include related death in family, contracting a contagious illness or injury to Client or Client's family members. In this case rescheduling services is appropriate. Client must reach out to Creative Consultant in a timely manner (24 hours before seminar or workshop start time.)

Equipment
• Having a sewing machine at home is preferred
• Class set of machines available for use
• Instructor available to assist with purchasing a standard-sized sewing machine
Additional Information
• Optional Homework assignments will be given, however, regular practice is essential for progress.
• Masks are not required but preferred.
• Arrive 5 minutes early to set up your sewing machine.
